In Need of a Few Good People

The Civic Engagement Committee (CEC) needs a few good people. We here at the CEC focus on topics that involve civic engagement. As per the VLGMA strategic plan, our mission is to “develop a civic engagement program and/or resources that facilitate citizen participation to enhance involvement in the civic process.” If this is a mission is something that interests you, and you have a desire to serve your profession, we need you! We need fresh ideas on how to encourage civic engagement, how to spread the word on best practices, and how to engage our citizens in this ever-changing world. If you have any interest in serving on the CEC, please reach out and let us know. You can reach me at mstallings@smithfieldva.gov, or you can reach out to Molly Harlow at mjh3a@virginia.edu to express interest in serving.
