New FEMA-Certified Planning for Economic Recovery Course - May 20, 2021

ICMA and the International Economic Development Council are offering a FEMA-certified "Planning for Economic Recovery" course for leaders of cities, counties, and economic development organizations in the Southeast on May 20, 2021.  Topics addressed in the free virtual event include:

  • Engaging small businesses in pre-disaster planning and preparedness

  • Utilizing financial tools and resources for mitigation and recovery and

  • Updating your economic recovery plan.

This four-hour virtual workshop is highly interactive and includes two subject matter experts as instructors:  Ron Carlee, assistant professor, Old Dominion University and former manager of the City of Charlotte, NC and Arlington County, VA, and John Zakian, National Disaster Resilience Grant Program Manager, City of Minot, ND.
