Virginia Institute of Government Update July 2021

By Charles Hartgrove, Associate Director, VA Institute of Government

VLGMA needs you to serve as a regional support coordinator

VLGMA has several vacancies for regional support coordinators.  This is an important volunteer role, and they provide a connection between our organization and the members in your region.  Regions are identical to planning district commissions.  The following regions have a vacancy:  2, 5, 7, 12, 15, and 18.  Please click here to view the current support coordinator roster and contact me directly if you are interested in serving.

There is still time to register for VIG's virtual workshops on collaborative leadership and conflict resolution held later this month.  With the many challenges local government leaders at all levels face and the continual deterioration of civil discourse in our society, these skills are needed more than ever.  Please contact Mike Scheid (ms6df@virginia.edu) to learn more and register.

Thank you to our communities that have already invested in VIG locality memberships for FY22.  The VIG/Cooper Center team is humbled by your support, and we continue to strive to develop new ways to effectively serve you, your organizations, and communities.  If you have questions about membership, please contact me or Jenn Nelson (jenn@virginia.edu).
